Though Joan Baez has lived all over the world, she got her start in music by busking in Boston when she was a teenager. Soon after, she gave her first serious public performance at the 1959 Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island. Fifty years later, she's coming back through New England. The folk legend performs at Look Park on July 28 as part of her 50th anniversary tour, and to promote her latest album, Day After Tomorrow.

July 28, $35-55, $10/car parking, 7 p.m., The Pines Theatre at Look Park, Northampton, (800) 745-3000, www.lookpark.org.
