Maybe it makes them eligible to be fans of Schoenberg? That would be a worthwhile experiment.
What I mean is, in St. Louis, the teabaggers contend, so-called "union thugs" assaulted a man named Kenneth Gladney who was there to protest healthcare reform. The non-teabagging contingent says otherwise. I'm not making any claims, but here's the video in all its unedited glory:
Here's where Schoenberg comes into play. From the local news coverage:
"Gladney is accepting donations toward his medical expenses. Gladney told reporters he was recently laid off and has no health insurance."
This is the kind of stuff that destroys robots in old science fiction films.
It also bears noting that terms like "union thugs" come straight out of the tactics of our old friend George Lakoff. It's called framing–enshrine the equating of unions and thuggery in the very terms of the debate, and it doesn't matter if facts are on your side or even if you debate. In the reality-based community, they're called union members, and they're suspected of something and innocent until proven guilty.
(Unions are very bad, however–don't know about you, but I hate weekends.)
