Nukes, Weapons Linked
It is an honor to have a U.S. president awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. It has occurred rarely in history. It is important to remember in the discussion of the control or abolition of nuclear weapons, though, that nuclear plants play a critical role in providing materials for the production of nuclear weapons. Nuclear plants such as Vermont Yankee need to be shut down not only for the ongoing danger they present, but because of their link to the production of nuclear weapons. We need to provide energy through safe and renewable means, and eliminate the dangerous choice of nuclear power.

Not Dwight's Fault
Another excellent article from Tom Vannah/The Advocate ("The Dwight Slight," Oct. 1, 2009). Good doin'! I disagree with Bill Dwight's opinion and vitriol, but it was clearly a private email not intended for public consumption. He is now an entertainer, not a reporter or a city councilor, so I don't buy the concept that he has some sort of responsibility to the public other than to entertain.
The real issue is the hypocrisy and lack of judgment on the part of someone or some people in the Higgins campaign for using an email list intended for another purpose as a vehicle for dissing the Bardsley supporters. Michael Bardsley… a conservative? If being fiscally responsible makes one a conservative, then perhaps the title fits. Bardsley, Silva, Adams and a few others consistently give voice to those who are otherwise unheard in Northampton. Try getting an email response from some of the other city councilors. Unless you are a known supporter, good luck.

Don't Mandate Vaccination
Some doctors promote vaccines; other doctors speak against vaccines. Many healthy people who took vaccines have become sick and died. For medical treatments we should be educated and have a right to say no. Many people who took the 1976 swine flu vaccination became paralyzed and some died. The recent swine flu vaccination has many toxic ingredients, including squalene. The WHO and CDC suggest some of the first people in the general population for swine flu vaccination [should] be health care workers. A toxic vaccine causing death to many health care workers is as effective as bombing hospitals. Unconstitutional pandemic laws may be enforced to mandate vaccinations for most of us.
