Eat this, critics…
Today I'm writing next issue's food piece. A question for further contemplation by any who care to weigh in on matters beyond liberal/conservative mortar fire–upon browsing the cookbook my mother gave me from First Baptist Church of Abilene, Texas, I am wondering:
Would the South have won if Campbell's Soup been around during the Civil War? I am astounded to find that pretty much all of my childhood favorites, from Mexican Chicken Casserole to Aunt Edna's Root Beer Cake are facilitated by somewhere between one to four cans of cream of chicken soup.
I did not know this.
IN THE MERELY POLITICAL SPHERE:
Here is an interesting breakdown of what is and isn't in the Senate's version of health care reform. It's a decidedly mixed bag, some of which seems good, some bad. Is this product of lobbyist watering-down worth the trouble? Guess we'll see what happens during reconciliation.
AND LASTLY:
Ancient Chinese pyramids? Extra cool.
