The Theater Project has generally filled the hot-weather lull between its nine-month seasons with concerts and musical cabarets. This summer adds a full theatrical production, Stones in His Pockets, a two-man play about a couple of locals in rural Ireland responding—laconically and amusingly—to the arrival of a Hollywood film crew. The two actors impersonate 15 different people in the satirical saga, which chronicles the outsiders’ ignorant efforts to create an “authentic Irish feel” for their movie.

Also on the summer’s bill are two comedy shows by area theater companies. Disturbed Theater (pictured) brings its zany (and often raunchy) sketch comedy revue Laugh Out Loud on June 22, and Pauline Productions revives its monster hit Parallel Lives, the two-woman goof on feminist targets, Aug. 27. There’s also a performance of Jonathan Mirin’s one-man circus-inflected autobiography, 28 Feet, on June 17.
