Sure, Holyoke might be grabbing all the casino-related headlines these days, but let’s not forget the three gaming companies angling to build in Springfield. The City Council hasn’t; its Planning and Economic Development Committee has two more public meetings scheduled to discuss a proposal, by Mayor Domenic Sarno and Ward 7 Councilor Tim Allen, to put the final proposal to a city-wide vote, rather than just a vote of residents in the affected ward.
The first meeting is tonight, Nov. 28, at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria of Gerena Elementary. The second will be next Wednesday, Dec. 5, also at 6 p.m., at the Rebecca Johnson School.
And if that’s not enough meeting for you, tomorrow, Nov. 29, a public hearing on the city’s real estate tax classification will be held at 6 p.m. in the gym at Holy Cross, at 153 Eddywood St.
