The national holiday may be next Monday, but this Wednesday, Jan. 15, is Martin Luther King Jr.’s actual birthday. The Greater Springfield NAACP and Mayor Domenic Sarno will mark the day with a celebration and flag-raising ceremony at 11 a.m. at City Hall, room 220.
The program includes a keynote address by the Rev. Charlie Stallworth, a Democratic state representative from Bridgeport, Conn. and president of that city’s Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance.
