He’s a percussive dancer from Michigan. She’s a Scottish harpist. So naturally, when the two met at the Shasta Fiddle Camp in Northern California, they decided to take their show on the road.

Maeve Gilchrist and Nic Gareiss bring their unique amalgam of dance and harp plucking to Greenfield’s Arts Block, theartsblock.com, this Friday, Dec. 5. The price for this 8:30 p.m. show is $20 in advance, $17 at the door. (That’s right, the Crawler double-checked it. It’s actually more to purchase in advance because of the service fee attached to the online feature.)

In other news… It may be known as “Friendly Fenway,” but the hallowed home of Boston’s boys of summer recently served as ground zero for rocker/provocateur Jack White to hurl some oral ammunition at several industry notables. Among those catching his verbal shrapnel were the Foo Fighters. In between jabs at Taylor Swift and her wardrobe changes, Rolling Stone’s editorial choices and Kanye West’s notorious onstage tirades, he accused the Foo Fighters of using three guitar players so they can cover up each others mistakes.

White’s camp would later quash the supposed Foo-feud, backpedaling to suggest that he was joking around in an attempt to kill time as an equipment issue was being addressed onstage.

To date, the Foo Fighters’ lone response has been a Sept. 18 tweet with a picture of a monkey playing guitar beneath the caption “Busted, the true secret of the Foo Fighters sound.”

Perhaps Foo frontman Dave Grohl will have a little more to say when his band gets the proverbial home field advantage July 18-19 at Fenway. Following the commercially successful and HBO-documented release of their eighth studio effort, Sonic Highways, the Foos recently announced a nearly year-long international tour that includes a Fenway double play. Tix for that go on sale this Friday, Dec. 5 at 10 a.m. online at redsox.com/foofighters.

Boston’s own Mission of Burma gets the opening honors on July 18, and British rock duo Royal Blood kicks things off the following evening.

On July 4, the Foo Fighters will officially celebrate their 20th anniversary at Washington, D.C.’s RFK Stadium with Sonic Highway contributors Heart, Joan Jett, Gary Clark Jr. and Buddy Guy all slated to perform with the band.

Colour correction: Last week, the Crawler reported that “Cult of Personality” rockers Living Colour will stop at Stafford Springs, Connecticut’s Palace Theater, thepalacetheaterstafford.com, Dec. 3. Which was true at the time. Then… ah heck — guitarist Vernon Reid can tell you himself.

“While we don’t want to disappoint our fans,” Reid said in a prepared statement, “we need this time to finish recording the new album. We will be back in February with new material. We really appreciate our fans’ support, and want to make the best record we can.”

Ridgefield’s Playhouse in Connecticut has already received a makeup date for its cancelled Dec. 5 play. Reid and bandmates Corey Glover, Doug Wimbish and Will Calhoun will perform there on Feb. 13, 2015 instead.

Although Stafford’s Palace has yet to receive its new show date, owners say it’s expected soon. All tickets for the original date will be honored, and refunds are also available at point of purchase.

Shade, Living Colour’s sixth studio effort, is expected to drop in the summer of 2015.•
