This tattoo is less than two weeks old. My family plans on getting the word “Ohana” tattooed in their own ways as well. Ohana, from in the movie Lilo & Stitch, means family and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten. For my tattoo, the feather represents family being able to float around as they discover and appreciate life, while the word Ohana keeps them together by its meaning. The colors are the diverse personalities, which are beautiful together. The tattoo is by Jim F. at Horseshoes and Hand Grenades in Chicopee.

I got my tree of life after my mom passed away. As kids we went to a Catholic church that had an amazing two-story tall stained glass tree of life. So, though I am no longer a Catholic, the tree of life is a symbol of my Catholic roots and Wiccan beliefs.
