Dance Dance Evolution

It’s a special year for the Lisa Leizman Dance Company: the resident company of the Northampton Center for the Arts has reached its 25th anniversary. To celebrate, the troupe hosts a festive spring concert at the newly-restored Shea Theater in Turners Falls. The concert will feature works old and new, including audience favorites like the Miles Davis-themed “All Blue” but also the first full performance of “Instructions for When There’s a Mountain,” which was written by company composer-in-residence Andrea Kwapien and inspired by her travels in Southeast Asia. A buffet dinner reception follows the concert, with dishes prepared by company members.

Lisa Leizman Dance Company Spring Concert: May 7, 7:30 p.m. $7-$15. Shea Theater Arts Center, 71 Ave. A, Turners Falls. (413) 863-281. sheatheater.org.
