Are you an Almond or what?

Melancholy Play by Sarah Ruhl is wonderfully strange. The plot of this dramedy centers around a melancholy woman named Tilly and how her sadness and happiness influences and are influenced by others. Characters often wonder if they’re almonds. It’s a reference to the amygdala, a part of the brain that regulates emotions — it’s named after the Greek word for almonds.

Melancholy Play: Friday, April 15, 7:30 p.m., $5-$10. Greenfield Community College, 1 College Dr., Greenfield.
