The self-anointed Queen of Crossplay (a blend of cross dressing and cosplay) Serenity Lockhart is having a birthday party Saturday night at Gateway City Arts in Holyoke and everyone is invited. Dress to impress Her Majesty and to coordinate with the theme: Nintendo’s fighting game Super Smash Bros. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8. Hosted by Lockhart and Tito Midnight, the evening will also include performances by the ” target=”_blank”>ChibiCon Traveling Cosplay Show! as well as Tytannia Loveless Lockhart, Erynn Rocabich, Ruby Monroe, and Veronica Bow. Tickets are $10-$12.

Will Death Rattle and Western Massacre be able to recreate the throat-ripping growl of Lamb of God lead singer Randy Blythe? We’re guessing YEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS! Find out for yourself Saturday at the 13th Floor Music Lounge above JJ’s on Main Street in Florence where the two bands will perform a tribute concert, “A Devil in God’s Country,” to Lamb of God.

And why the hell not? This Sunday The Quarters on Railroad Street in Hadley is hosting Hell Night, an evening devoted to all things doom-centric and scary. Starting at 8 p.m., DJ Cashman and Jeremy and Conrad from Black Sand will be spinning thrash, doom, power metal, and black metal all night long. On the screens will be movies the Quarters folks promise will be “gorey and gross.”

Equinoxx is a cover band that tours up and down New England playing classic rock from the most classic of rock artists: Journey, Iron Maiden, Boston, Led Zeplin, Whitesnake — are you now singing “Sweet Cherry Pie” in your head, too? They’re making a stop at The Tank at the American Legion Post 185 on Springfield Street in Agawam Friday. The free show starts at 9 p.m.
