Chop, Crop, and Roll
Greenfield has a new pop-up space for sound, performance, and visual art showings. It’s called Jaume I (“Jam One”), organized by local musician Matt Robidoux. The non-commercial venture, which collected enough money through crowd-funding to pay the rent and bills through mid-September, begins with a few curators, multiple performances each week, and weekly gallery hours that host a variety of visual and sound art exhibitions.
This Saturday night, Jaume I hosts a collection of experimental films by artists living in Western Mass, featuring works on 16mm, VHS, handmade animation, and abstract and documentary pieces. All proceeds go toward keeping the space open into the fall.
Jaume I Benefit Screening: Saturday at 8 p.m. $8. 170 Main St., Greenfield.
