The Saddest Concert You’ll Want to Attend
Jameson Lavo’s influence on the Pioneer Valley music scene can still be seen, despite his passing in 2012. Forever in search of the “saddest song,” Lavo spent much of his time playing with Northampton folk/doom/shoegaze band Trials and Tribulations. This Saturday Flywheel is hosting a concert dedicated to the memory of the “truly animated soul; [who] had a talent for bringing people together through his music and big-heartedness but never could find true happiness in this world.” The event will feature music by The Everyday Trials and Tribulations of Altar, Dungeoness, Sangre Y Tierra, Tundra Toddler, The Awful Din, and more; a bake sale; informational speakers; and a raffle to raise funds for the Westfield Homeless Cat Project (in honor of Jameson’s cat Carrot) and The Freedom Center, a nonprofit run by and for people with mental illnesses.
We’ll Be All Right — In Memory of the Late Jameson Lavo: Saturday, June 4, 4 p.m. $5-$7. Flywheel Arts Collective, 43 Main St., Easthampton.
