Classy Garcia
The Grateful Dead has been covered — a lot. So, it takes something special to stand out among the tributes. We think 20 violins, a horn section, a pit, 15 flutes, clarinets and oboes playing “Morning Dew” will be among those stand outs. On July 1 the Boston Pops Orchestra will be joined by legendary guitarist Warren Haynes (Allman Brothers Band, Gov’t Mule, The Dead) to perform a Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration. It’s going to be like “a leaf of all colors playin’ a golden string fiddle to a double-e waterfall over your back,” obviously.
Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration Featuring Warren Haynes: July 1, 8 p.m. $25-$109. Tanglewood, 297 West St., Lenox. bso.org.
