Hot Jazz in the City
Come and get your free jazz in downtown Springfield’s Court Square. The lineup for the Springfield Jazz and Roots Festival in August is yet to be announced, but organizers Blues to Green have said on the event’s Facebook page that Taj Mahal and Jose Gonzalez and Banda Criolla will rock the stage. Last year the three-year-old festival pulled in jazz heavies Charles Neville, Avery Sharpe, Angel Rose, and Deva Mahal. In addition to all-day music, local vendors will be selling food, booze, and art, and there will be live performances and interactive activities for the community.
