More Chaos, Please

Flying trapeze artists, puppets, Hula hoop extraordinaires, buskers, artists, crafters, bands, authors, dancers, and performing artists are among the funky folk who will converge on Cottage Street in Easthampton this Saturday for Cultural Chaos. The festival, produced by Easthampton City Arts+, is designed to celebrate unique creation in all its many forms — hence the chaos.

From noon to 7 p.m., Cottage Street in Easthampton will be closed to traffic for the party. This year’s theme is Carnival, one of the most chaotic holidays on Earth. As of press time, the lineup hadn’t been released, but on Cottage Street Cultural District’s Facebook, a couple acts have been revealed: Beige will perform their quirky mix of dub-ska, big band dance music; TheaterTruck, Radiant Circles Hoop Troupe; and Natasha Lowe, a children’s book author known for writing The Power of Poppy Pendle. Also, the dozens of artists studios at One Cottage Street will be open to the public.
