Go with the Flow

This Saturday, the village of Shelburne Falls takes the outdoors as inspiration for RiverWalk, a day of downtown activities celebrating art, nature, and the Deerfield River. From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Friends of the Arms Library hosts a books sale. Shops open later in the morning, and by 2 p.m. Bridge Street will be alive with musical performances by The Eclectic, The Jazz Coop, and Medicine Mammals; educational displays; fly fishing demonstrations; and children’s activities, including sidewalk decorating and face painting. All of this and it’s Art Walk, the town’s monthly open studios event.  At 4 p.m., leaders of the Frog & Flower Stroll guide a festive community walk from Mallei Park in Buckland to the historic potholes for a river dance finale. Then at 8 p.m., the touring multimedia performance troupe Bella Gaia performs at Memorial Hall — a fitting tribute to the wonders of this little blue marble we all call home.

RiverWalk: Throughout downtown Shelburne Falls. Saturday beginning at 8 a.m. Rain or shine. Bella Gaia $15-$30, all other events free. (413) 625-2526, shelburne falls.com.
