Bloodgrass, baby
Angry Johnny and the Killbillies will be playing their own blend of “Bloodgrass” music — kind of a metal bluegrass — Friday night at Luthier’s Co-op in Easthampton. Also playing that night are Matt Hebert, Jerry Brookman, and Eavesdrop Trio. Show starts at 6 p.m.
Can you smell that smell?Like lavender? Don’t answer that, it’s rhetorical. Everyone loves lavender! On Saturday and Sunday Buckland is holding its annual Lavender Festival under the tents at Hog Hollow Row. The two day event, which kicks off Saturday at 10 a.m., will feature crafters and self-guided tours of Johnson Hill Farm — home of the Lavender Labyrinth, and the site of Robert Strong Woodward’s work entitled “God’s Quiet Acre.”
Furies vs. The Boston Common
Think up a good Roller Derby name for yourself — the Advo-clobberers? — and get yourself down to Interskate 91 for an action-packed, power jamming good time when the local Furies (that’s furies, like furious, and not like the dudes dressed in animal costumes) take on the The Boston Common team. The game starts at 6 p.m. Sunday at Interskate 91 on Boston Road in Wilbraham.
