Hey, I Resemble That Remark!

On Thursday at The Still in Agawam, Roddy Thomas, a comedian who bills himself as the “prototype” for Family Guy’s Peter Griffin, will be performing alongside chuckle vets Steve Nagle, aka Rock 102’s News Douche, and Rob Steen who’s been on TV a bunch with his comedy that “pushes the limits without going over the edge.” But wait, there’s more! Admission to the show, $20, also gets you a BBQ dinner buffet. Eating at 6, show at 7 p.m.

Metal Community

Friday will be the last fundraiser for the RPM Fest in Greenfield before the big show in August. The show will feature Roadhorse, The Immolators, Jeopardy, and Sparkeater. RPM Fest is an annual gathering of the local metal, thrash, and hardcore community for a weekend of music and coming together. No one’s singing Kumbaya (unironically), but, under the terms of admission, just about everyone at the Fest has had a hand in putting it together. So check out the final concert fundraiser at JJ’s Tavern in Florence. Show starts at 9 p.m., $7, 18-plus.

Tango Punk

The Cachivache Quintet takes the tango and kicks it in the throat, you know, like you do when you’re a hybrid punk band. The group plays a very danceable style of updated Argentinian music. They’re swinging through Holyoke on their 50-city international summer tour Wednesday night at Gateway City Arts. Show starts at 7:30 p.m., Milonga at 8 p.m., but get there early for a “musicality” class with the band. Tickets range depending on what you want to do and start at $18.
