Live Long
This photo from the ’60s was so cute, we couldn’t not share it. It shows Adam Nimoy enjoying time with his dad, Star Trek star Leonard Nimoy. In 1966, his father originated the role of Mr. Spock, the human-alien first officer of the Starship Enterprise — a character that franchise creator Gene Roddenberry once called “the conscience of Star Trek.” This year, Adam released For the Love of Spock, a documentary he wrote and directed about his father’s life that includes interviews with William Shatner, George Takei, Nichelle Nichols, crew members and fans, as well as Chris Pine, Simon Pegg, Zoe Saldana, Neil deGrasse Tyson, J.J. Abrams, and Nimoy himself, who died in February 2015 at the age of 83.
For the Love of Spock: Sunday at 2 p.m. $4-$8. Yiddish Book Center, 1021 West St., Amherst. (413) 256.4900, yiddishbookcenter.org.
