There’s a reason State Street Fruit Store, Deli, Wines & Spirits’ slogan is “Your first and last stop.” Let’s start with the deli. They specialize in making food the way you like it, whether it’s their overstuffed sandwiches, grinders, or strollers (a tortilla roll-up filled with Boar’s Head meat, cheese, veggies, and your spread of choice). They offer local goat cheese and gouda, as well as cheddars and soft cheeses, and a tantalizing variety or deli salads. Opened as a fruit store in the 1930s, State Street still sells fruit but also carries local grocery products from around the region. They even deliver to select towns around Northampton.
