When you think of Look Park, you think of a beautiful setting with great family friendly events. Rarely do you think of it as a non-profit that relies on its visitors for sole support. “We’re self-supporting,” says Look Park Executive Director Shawn Porter. “We don’t receive any state or local taxes.” That’s amazing since the park’s programming is so robust and well-managed. “We’ve been providing affordable family fun since 1928. We’ve got children’s programming, school vacation concerts, the Pioneer Valley Beer and Wine Festival, the Food Truck Festival, our train, and paddle boats.” Porter wants to thank patrons who voted Look Park Best of the Valley. “Thank you so much. Every dollar you spend goes back into the park. I think our responsible stewardship is the secret to our success.”
