The history of Nini’s began in 1960 when Giovanni Daniele came to Springfield from Salerno, Italy, and became the founding member of Red Rose (Springfield’s landmark restaurant) for 16 years. In 1977, he decided to sell his shares of Red Rose to open his own restaurant in Easthampton. After 42 years, Nini’s Ristorante has successfully become a staple in the Western Mass community. Sadly, Giovanni passed away in 2011, but his legacy lives on through his son, Aristide “Gianni” Daniele whose been running the restaurant since then. “Nini’s has been a part of my life since I was born,” Daniele says. “To have this acknowledgement after having this restaurant be around for so many years and then I’ve taken the helm is huge for me.”
