The word "lacuna" means gap, missing information, the space between, a hiatus. It is appropriate, then, that Amherst college student Jonah Shepp chose Lacuna Park for the title of his play to be performed at Amherst College's intimate Studio 3. The play focuses on a stranger in a strange land. In Lacuna Park, Shepp applies a "nothing is as it seems" aura to the land in which his protagonist finds himself, and throws some religious hysteria and a mermaid into the mix for good measure.
March 5-8, 8 p.m., free, Studio 3, Webster Hall, Amherst College, (413) 542-5773.
