What happend is I and Jake had a burn to get rid of some brush & suchlike, and so we had a lot of coals left over. Well, every one knows when you have a burn you invite people over & put some potatoes & beets etc. in the coals & cook them up. So that is what we did & there was cpt slow and oola and travis and big tiny and everyone. We were all around the coals and we had us some screech & then jake said he betted he cld walk across the coals barefoot. So we raked them out so we had abt 15 ft of hot coals for him to walk across & he did it just fine. He said he learned how to do that at astronaut school b/c when you are an astronaut like jake was, you have to be prepared for anything.
Then jake said i shld do it but i did not want to. But then i thot how if jake cld do it I surely cld so i kind of did it but even i wld say what i did does not count as walking on hot coals b/c what i did was run over them as fast as i cld. And i will tell you what: those coals were HOT! But i was okay b/c i ran as fast as i cld & i made it across.
But then Cpt Slow wanted to go. I had not even got my shoes on when he stepped onto the coals. But he goes so slow he only got abt 3 feet out & by then he was pretty much on fire. It smelled like bbq. Well, I jumped right onto those coals and pulled him off, and that is how i burned my feet. They have got blisters and everything, but cpt slows feet are way worse. It is sad b/c him & oola are getting married soon but there is no way he is walking down the aile/ile/aille/however you spell it/ w/ his feet the way they are.
My feet are not as bad as his feet but none the less i have pretty much been confined to a chair for the last couple wks & b/c of that i have not felt much like writing b/c of that. Jake has been real good abt taking care of my chores for me. I thot dody might be real sore at me for burning my feet but she is not b/c she knows i helped save cpt slow.
