I do not know what they are doing flying around like they are but they come thru at abt 500 mph & they just skim the tops of the trees & they scare the trees so much we can not get any sap out of them. I know for a fact this year is a real good sap run in other places what are not harrased by fighter jets but we can not get more then a few drops of sap out of the trees b/c they are so terrified. It is a real problem b/c travis relies on his syrup operation to make some money & he even pays me & jake to help him get the sap in & boil it down.
We tromped around in the woods to see if maybe the problem was something else like a kink or leak in the tubes what bring the sap in from the trees but everything checked out ok. It is definitely those trees are scared. How we are sure is b/c this one time we were the 3 of us at a real big old maple we call Sugar Daddy & it was putting out a lot of sap when all of a sudden one of those jets thundered rite over us & Sugar Daddy just turned rite off & we cld not cajole any sap out of it even when we rubbed on the trunk. It was just like when you are peeing & some fellow comes up & stands behind you & the fawcet turns off.
And ofcourse dody is mad b/c she is trying to make a real big pumkin soufle for the grange maple dinner. It is abt the biggest soufle you ever seen but every time those planes fly over it turns into a pancake & we waste abt another 50 eggs.
Anway I left another message at the airforce base but ofcourse they have not called back.
