Kayla Mendrek takes the time to show us her tattoo in between tables while working at Amy’s Place in Easthampton. She has tattoos all over, she says, flashing her floral patterned feet, but the lighthouse on her left arm is her favorite. Mendrek says when she was little, her mother would take her to see the many lighthouses of New England. The image, she says, reminds her of those good times spent with her mom. “And I’ve just always thought lighthouses are beautiful,” she says. Mendrek got the tat at Lucky’s in Northampton.
