Los Angeles isn’t the only city crowded with stars. Go out at night, do your best to flee the light pollution, and just lie back. Funny how easy it is to swap out the small, glowing screen for the infinite cosmos. On the first Friday of every month, Springfield Museums hosts a public sky gazing beginning just after sunset, accompanied by an introductory talk about space topics. Bring your wide eyes and a sense of curiosity.

Stars Over Springfield: Friday, April 1, 7:30 p.m. $3 adults; $2 kids. Springfield Museums, 21 Edwards St., Springfield, (413) 263-6800.
