Easthampton BookFest

Literature lovers unite this Saturday in Easthampton for the city’s annual BookFest. Venues across Easthampton will host book-, writer- and author-themed events including: a morning with Mo Willems, a Letterpress Poetry workshop, long stitch book making, a storyslam, a panel on Iggy Pop, altered books, 10-minute plays, poems, prose, and pints. The highlight of the day, though, is Flywheel Art Collective’s Zinefest, which features independent magazine or “zine” artists, writers, and editors. Kicking off at 11 a.m., ZineFest will feature artists Sonya Cheney (Nine Lives Zine Distro), Zachary Noel (Cheep Cheep), Sophie Yanow (In Situ), Anika Balaconis (Far Cry Zine), and Benjamin Kilbride (BPK Zine). The keynote speaker is Ramadasha Bikceem, publisher of Gunk.
