Orcs Gone Wyld
Prithee, take heed: The annual Mutton & Mead festival returns this weekend. The humble realm of Montague will be suddenly, and strangely, populated by creatures, craftspeople, warriors, musicians, mystical beings, and merchants hawking their handmade wares. The grounds host family-friendly games, stages with live entertainment, jousting (ouch), sword fighting, belly dancing, juggling, and plenty of forest in which to go questing. Not to mention the mutton, and the mead — no grande olde time would be complete without a proper medieval meal.
Mutton & Mead Medieval Festival: Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. $10-$40. Rain or shine. 210 Turners Falls Road, Montague. muttonandmead.org.
