Leaves of Gloss
The natural world bends abstract, then comes sharply into detailed focus, only to recede away again in dreamlike shapes (like in Summer Song, pictured here). It’s an enjoyably surreal experience, stepping from canvas to canvas at Athol artist Susan Paju’s new exhibition of landscapes and landscape-based abstractions, hosted by the Burnett for the month of December. A reception will be held on Thursday, Dec. 1, 5-8 p.m., during the Amherst First Thursday Art Walk. Marie Welch, of Bernardston, will exhibit miniature oil landscapes as well.
