In its second year, the Brattleboro Youth Rock Festival has a killer line up of below-the-drinking-age talent. Saturday features a full day of rock with performances by local bands Impending Exorcism, Gabe Brodeur (frontman for Court Etiquette, which P.S. performed on the Advocate Sessions stage recently – the video will be out on the 29th), Moxie, Felixis Jinx, Parlicium (Sessions alumni), Outer Space, Oak Groove Blues Groove, and Biodegradable to name a few. The fest is all about giving young musicians a place to perform and grow as artists. In addition to music, the day will have music-related workshops offered by adult music pros at several venues around Brattleboro. Registration is free and open to all participating musicians and community youths. Amazingly, there is still room to sign up for Samirah Evans’ singing workshop, Priming Your Voice. Evans voice is over the moon gorgeous; if she’s going to be dropping knowledge, bring a notebook and pick it up. The concert is $8-$10.

The Brattleboro Youth Rock Festival: Saturday, Sept. 23. Workshops during the day, music starts at 4 p.m. Free. 118 Elliot, 118 Elliot St., Brattleboro. $8-$10. (802) 579-8545. jaimie@brattrock.org. brattrock.org.
