The only music festival in Massachusetts that also features hot air balloons (and balloon rides) returns to Greenfield. The Green River Festival features a variety of music on two stages with a special kids’ stage added this year by 93.9 The River. Concert performers include Ozomatli, Old Crow Medicine Show, Joy Kills Sorrow, Sweetback Sisters, Cake and many more.
A Friday night kick-off program (with a suggested donation of $10-15) begins the festivities at Greenfield’s Energy Park. On Saturday, hot air balloon launches begin at 6 a.m. with a special balloon illumination lighting up the sky at 9:30 p.m.
Games, crafts and songs are featured all weekend for children and adults, with picnicking available. Premium parking passes are sold for $10, and free parking with shuttle bus service is also available.
