The Equalites have shaken the derrieres of Valley audiences for more than two decades now, and continue to live out a history that's been written in clubs and studios from Cambridge to Conway to Kingston, Jamaica, with frequent summer stops on Cape Cod (to beat the alliteration to death). The band's shepherded some two dozen singers and players from and to various points in their respective careers, including singer Kim Zombik (Stash, Unit 7), drummer Dave Noonan (Swampgirl, Green Island) and Mentos, the ubiquitous purveyor of streetside steel drum melodies and half-sung social commentary.
Hundreds of gigs and several children later, the 'lites' current lineup is still keepin' it Irie, featuring David Boatwright and Edward Redonnet on guitars and vocals, Michael Miller on bass, Peter Nabut on keys, Boo Pearson and Cinamon Blair on vocals and percussion and Phillipe Simon on the drum kit. This year they celebrate the release of a new CD, Next Riddim.
Dec. 19, 9:15 p.m.-1 a.m., Easy Street, 10 Fiske Ave., Greenfield, (413) 584-4187.
