In perhaps its most apropos version to date, the Northampton Arts Council's annual Transperformance returns for its 19th annual reincarnation, this time with the theme "Woodstock." The Transperformance is a yearly event in which local performers don the duds and croon the tunes of famous acts from days gone by, based on a theme. Past themes have included "The British Invasion," "Insects and Animals" and "Letters and Numbers," and the event inevitably smokes out the cream of the local musical crop. Highlights this year include the Young@Heart Chorus as Jefferson Airplane, Fistah as The Who and a much-anticipated guitar odyssey by F. Alex Johnson (pictured, of Drunk Stuntmen fame) as Jimi Hendrix. The event, billed as "Lookstock," is a fundraiser for the Arts Council and Northampton public schools.
