In the true spirit of classic Americana, the Route 63 Roadhouse is a no-fuss, no-frills place to have a great Saturday night. Local bands provide live music and dancing every weekend, making this venue much more than an out-of-the-way bar by the side of the road. The Roadhouse's devotion to the classic age of rock 'n' roll is evident in the plethora of album covers that line the walls.

Cover bands like Love Bomb and The Instigators abound, but original musicians often grace the stage as well. Though classic rock is the standard fare, sometimes blues acts like Mark Hummel and the James Montgomery Blues Band are featured, while The Bus Drivers add a Southern sound. Other favorite frequenters of the Roadhouse stage include the Drunk Stuntmen, Yarn, Electric Nightshift, and Louisiana Red.

Wednesday night karaoke and Thursday night open mics keep the musical entertainment going all week long. This week, classic rock bands Heroes and DIX play Friday and Saturday respectively, and a horseshoe league game at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 19 is open to all.

The Route 63 Roadhouse can be found at 32 Federal St. in Millers Falls. A full schedule of musicians and events is available at http://www.myspace.com/route63roadhouse.
