We finally put to good use that deep sea fishing net we found a couple years ago on that japanese tuna boat. For the record, it was all jakes idea.

What we did was we built a big frame sort of like a gigantic football goal post & we hoisted it up to the very top of Sugar Daddy & then we strung up the net to the frame. It looks like the biggest tennis racket you ever saw. I will admit I was trepidatious abt making the net b/c we tried this last year but it did not work but jake has been mulling on it for a while & once jake gets an idea in his head there is no stopping him untill he either puts my truck in a ditch or something catches fire. I said "jake what will you do w/ the plane when we catch it?" & he said he had already thot of that & he will part it out, which is the same thing he said last year.

So once we had the net up we gathered what sap we cld from those frightened maple trees & things were quiet enough until around 4pm when boom here come those fighter jets & one of them was going right for the net & I held my breath & seen it see the net & it zigged & then it zagged & then it made up its mind & just went rite at the net. It all happend so fast.

And it just kept happening real fast b/c that net did not slow things up one bit. The jet just blasted thru the net & kept going but then it came back & circled around a couple times & then it kept on going along its way.

I do not think we have enough japanese fishing net to make another net so i am not sure what we will do next. Dody has not been able to perfect her soufle b/c of those fighter jets, which just does not seem fair.

Anyway, when we were not putting up the net we were watching the pope. It is nice he gave mass at yankee stadium even tho he is a Cardinals fan. I am puzzled why he made his entrance from the bullpen while they played "Enter Sandman" tho.
