Movies were meant to be seen a certain way, with a sputtering projector at the back of the theater releasing a beam of light that brings pictures on celluloid to life. Now film lovers can see some of the big screen’s classics as if they were seeing them for the very first time. The Colonial Theatre’s fall film season starts Sept. 4 and runs through Nov. 29. Films will be shown on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Films for this week include The Lion King, Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, Caddyshack (pictured), National Lampoon’s Animal House and others.
Sept. 4-Nov. 29, $1-8, The Colonial Theatre, 111 South St., Pittsfield, (413) 997-4444. For more details on movies and schedules, visit www.colonialtheatre.org.
