Offering a panoply of painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, multimedia, performance, and fashion design, Paper City Studios hosts its spring Open Studios and Installation Event, Pulp Science Fiction this week. Housed in a post-industrial brick monolith, Paper City Studios sprawls along the edge of the Second Level Canal and boasts arched windows and a long history as a grocer’s warehouse. The studio encourages public art, collaboration and innovation with doors open for a mask-making, paint-splattering, stucco-sticking community event
May 8-10, opening reception: May 8 at 6 p.m. Paper City Studios, 80 Race St., Holyoke, (413) 563-9750, www.papercitystudios.wordpress.com.
