Take it to the Streets

Early June should bring lovely weather for this year’s Cultural Chaos, an all-day “street festival with a twist” along Cottage Street in Easthampton. This time around it’s Carnival — a theme we expect will add an extra dash of color to all the food, music, open studios, and live performances. Also in store: a “maker’s market” for local artisans and shoppers, and a pop-up “parklet” project, funded in part by an ECA+ grant, which will transform a downtown parking lot into an interactive creative space. For those who want to participate whole hog: the festival is currently seeking stage musicians, street performers, restaurants, vendors, volunteers, and community organizations to partner with. Attendees are encouraged to walk, bike, and carpool — c’mon, it’s beautiful outside.
