In Our Elements

Two artists exhibiting at Gallery A3 in Amherst this month explore color, nature, and the human spirit. Rochelle Shicoff’s work in mixed media focuses mainly on people, offering creative and often whimsical experiments in melding the human figure with natural elements and expressions of emotion through line and shape. Janet Walerstein Winston takes the geometry of landscape (as in the monotype Paths to the Past, pictured above) and finds intimacy and texture within expansive spaces, notably in scenes inspired by a recent trip to New Mexico.
