SUNDAY: Build it Yourself

Sunday is for relaxing — and that includes a day of rest for the bartenders at Arkham at Harmony Place in Brattleboro. The quintessential hipster dive bar, complete with air hockey and arcade games, has a Build Your Own Bloody Mary party. It’s $5 a Mary while supplies last. Doors open at 3 p.m.

SATURDAY: And Friends!

Whenever a musician is accompanied by “And Friends” you know it’s going to be a jovial show. When they’re “psychic friends” all the better. On Saturday, July 23, Jared Quinn and The Psychic Friends will perform “only the music that makes them happy” at The Still Bar & Grill in Agawam. A typical night for the Psychic Friends trio will range from greasy Jimmy Smith and Booker T & The MG’s organ music to the funk of James Brown, Stevie Wonder, and Prince, to the classics of Hendrix, Clapton, Santana et al. And it’s all gonna be funk-ay. Show starts at 9 p.m.

THURSDAY: NOLA Funk

Straight out of NOLA, Nardy Boy is one “crazy-ass mash up of funk, second line, blues and jazz, and soul,” according to venue hosts at Theodore’s Blues, Booze, and Barbecue in Springfield. On Thursday, July 21, the eclectic group, which often features guest musicians, will be playing their blend of hip-hop infused jazz and old-time rag. It’s all highly danceable, so come ready to shake it, sugar! Show starts at 9 p.m.
