Indie rock and folk singer-songwriter Andrew Bird makes what he calls “three-dimensional music” – a mixture of violin, guitar, and virtuoso whistling, combined with intricate looping pedals. As a teen Bird became interested in a variety of styles including early jazz, country blues and folk music, synthesizing them into his unique brand of pop. He has released more than a dozen albums and is a past member of swing revival jazz band, Squirrel Nut Zippers and Andrew Bird’s Bowl of Fire.  For more on Andrew Bird, check out Chris Goudreau’s Q & A with Bird.  And for heaven’s sake, don’t call him a “one man orchestra.” You can catch Andrew Bird at the Calvin Theater  at 8:00 p.m. tonight. Tickets are $35.50 to 49.50.
