Kathie Williams’ family has owned Richardson’s since 1983, but the business was founded long before that in 1954. People come in for their chocolate caramel apples made with Clarkdale apples, their peanut brittle, homemade candy canes, chocolate-covered strawberries with Smiarowski strawberries, fudges, nut clusters, and, of course, their famous dixies made from chocolate and nuts that were featured on the Food Network in 2010. “We love what we do and we love our customers, and know most of them by name!” Williams says. She says she loves the smiles on customers’ faces when they walk in the door and smell the chocolate. “It’s priceless. We never tire of it!”
