Stagestruck: Plain Jane
Jane Eyre may be the most-adapted of 19th-century English novels, with dozens of film and TV renditions. But stage versions can do something the book does that screen versions don’t. Charlotte Bronte’s narrative is in the voice of Jane herself, and so is the play now at Hartford Stage.
