Best of V-Spot: Too Many Orgasms, Too Many Leg Cramps

A Heartbeat (or Impeachment) Away from the Presidency: We went to VP Mike Pence’s hometown to learn about him
Jeff Brown, part of a deep-rooted local newspaper family, became Pence’s close friend in high school. Pence, a volunteer with the county’s Democratic Party, was still feeling out his political beliefs, Brown said. He would spar with Brown’s conservative father about President Roosevelt’s postwar legacy.
“Mike is a historian,” Brown said. “He was very interested in Kennedy and Roosevelt, just the decision-making process that these guys went through to do what they needed to do.”
Breaking the School to Prison Pipeline: Springfield reduces in-school arrests, but is it enough?
“After that, honestly, my life took a rough turn,” Olivares said. “I started hanging around with the wrong guys. I wasn’t taking school too seriously. I was looking at school in a negative manner; I was looking at police in a negative manner. I was certainly a lost teenager.” – Armando Olivares, 23, talking about his in-school arrest at age 14.
Between the Lines: Is Boston Super Racist?
So, is SNL’s Michael Che right? Is our beloved Boston — with so much to offer by way of education, healthcare, culture, cuisine, and community — a more racist place than, say, Los Angeles?
This weekend Che doubled down on an earlier comment in which he said this about the Super Bowl during “Weekend Update”: “I just want to relax, turn my brain off, and watch the blackest city in America beat the most racist city I’ve ever been to.”
O, Cannabis! How to Taste the Nuances of Marijuana Like a Pro
We’re on the road of cannabis no longer being thought of as some seedy contraband in a sandwich bag tossed through a car window to potheads, but a varied, quality — and dare I say, refined — hobby. With the ability to purchase and grow identified strains with known THC and other compound levels, weed smokers can zero-in on the buds they like and sample the best of what’s around.
Can you smell where I’m going with this? Weed tastings, ya’ll!

President of the NAACP in Amherst
The NAACP members advocate for civil rights, fight against police brutality, and conduct voter mobilization campaigns in their communities — rights that seem to be under attack right now. Hearing him speak on any of these topics would be fascinating.
Between the Lines: No Man is an Island; It Takes a Village to Raise a Hero
The “power of one” isn’t a real thing.
It takes a village to raise a hero … or a jerk. What I’m saying is, the people, places, and opportunities around a person shapes who he becomes. Outside of Willy Loman’s sketchy brother in “Death of a Salesman,” no one has ever walked into the “dark” jungle by himself and emerged with handfuls of diamonds.
